In the wake of the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 Vikram on the lunar surface and Pragyan’s exploration near the Moon’s southern pole, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is gearing up for the next frontier in space exploration – robotic missions to the Moon and beyond. With a vision to engage the youth of India in this exciting endeavor, the U R Rao Satellite Centre (URSC), a part of ISRO, is calling for innovative ideas and designs of robotic rovers through the “ISRO Robotics Challenge-URSC 2024” (IRoC-U 2024).

This challenge serves as an open invitation to the talented student community to participate in the design and realization of ‘Wheeled/Legged Rovers,’ involving the complete development of hardware and software. The primary objective is to provide development opportunities in space robotics, fostering creative thinking among the youth for ISRO’s interplanetary missions.

Scheduled with the tagline “Let’s build a space robot,” IRoC-U 2024 offers a platform for students to showcase their engineering prowess.
