Indian RoboSumo Competition Rules Event Name:- Robo Sumo.
Robot control:- Remote control and Autonomous.
Robots Per Event:- Two Robots.
Robot weight:- 5kg and 15 kg.
Power/Voltage supply:- Depends on weight class.
Robot Dimensions:- Depends on weight class.
1.1 Robo Sumo Event Summary

In the Robo sumo competition, two robots compete in a head-to-head match. The robo sumo matches are like traditional human sumo matches. No use of weapons is allowed in robo sumo. you can not flip your opponent’s robot because It’s a pushing match between two robots that will try to force each other towards borderline. there are different weight categories in India as follows.
2.1 Category of Robo sumo competition
(1) Wired Robo sumo.
(2) Autonomous Robo sumo.
(3) Wireless Remote Control Robo sumo.
3.1 Weight Categories
(1) Five Kilograms weight class (5 kg).
(2) 15 Kilograms weight class (15 kg).
4.1 Robo Sumo Gameplay
A robo sumo is a fight between two different teams, each team has one or more members. only one member can control the robot. after reading robotics India rules teams can take part in different competitions with their robots. only you can use self-made robots, you can not use ready-made robots in the competition. 5.1 Robot Sumo Ring
Robo Sumo Ring is also known as ‘dohyo’. A playing surface Surrounded by borders including a borderline called as dohyo. Ring consist of two different parallel pained lines. In the case of autonomous sumo ring, the color is equal to the absorption of IR light, don’t use the painted surface.
(1) The sumo ring must be a circular shape with an appropriate dimension depending on the weight class.
(2) Centerlines in the sumo ring with appropriate with and spacing for the given class.
(3) The surface must be smooth and plane. if the match is for a higher category weight class. then use more safety precautions to reduce the accidents, build a safe ring for competition.
6.1 Robot Sumo Ring Construction Material
Generally, for the construction of the robo sumo ring, the following materials are useful Polyurethane, steel plate, coated wood, iron plates, and melamine components materials. Indian RoboSumo Competition Rules
7.1 Sumo Robot Specifications
(1) Maximum voltage must not exceed 12Volts and 24 volts depending on weight class.
(2) Keep all the dimensions of the robot under specified dimensions of the weight class.
(3) A robot must feet inappropriate weight class and dimensions specified by organizers.
(4) If the robot has a bord battery supply then the weight of batteries will be also considered in weight. But then the weight of remote control is not considered.
(5) The robo sumo bot should not exceed its weight specified by event organizers.
8.1 Remote controller Specifications
Robot Control Requirements:-
(1) You can control robo sumo through a wireless remote or wired remote control remote it depends on the category and competition. Refer following points for battery and power supply.
(2) There should be binding capacity between transmitter and receiver.
Note:- Remote controllers with such a facility are not allowed in competition.
(3) The team must have at least four channel wireless remote control circuits or dual-channel wireless remotes. Avoid frequency interference with other teams. If there is any frequency interference within the wireless system then it will not be considered for rematch or results.
(4) You can use A remote control system from toys as well. You may also use remote control systems available in the market.
(5) firstly, must approve the Self-Made or Nonstandard remote control systems from the organizers.
(6) secondly, Team should pair up the wireless remote with their robo sumo before putting it in the robo sumo ring.
9.1 Injuries and Accident During the Match
(1) firstly, the Player or team can request to stop the match when he or she has any injures during the match. In case of an accident, the match will be stopped immediately.
(2) If the robot meets with an accident, then some time is allotted by the organizers to fix the robot. if the team can not continue then match then their opponent will be a winner.
(3) In case of any injuries and accidents the final decision must be given by the organizers and committee members in less than five minutes.
10.1 Qualifying Round
(1) It consists of two qualifying rounds.
(2) In case of a tie in all aspects judge’s decision will be final.
(3) The top teams from the qualifying rounds will make it to the final round.
11.1 Other Rules
(1) Only Add four participants to the team.
(2) The robot must not damage the track.
(3) Intentional cutting off others’ wires and damaging of other robots is not allowed, failure to that may lead to disqualification.
(4) The robo sumo should have a 4-wheel drive or 2-wheel drive mechanism; all the tyres must contribute to the motion.
(5) Don’t use Spare parts or ready-made toy kits for constructing the robot.
(6) Don’t use ready-made parts.
(7) The remote must work on two frequencies (with a considerable difference between the frequencies) so as to avoid interference with the opponent.
(8) Participants can not change the design, once the robot registered for the event.
(9) The organizers will check your robot before participating then judges will allow your team in the competition. they will check your robot specifications. All the decisions are solely in the hands of the judges.
(10) Some rules may be different in different competitions.
12.1 Safety Rules
Safety Rules: Compliance with all event rules is mandatory. Finally, competitors must stay within the principles and procedures of their own, accord and don’t require constant policing. Read all the following safety rules.
(1) Special care should be taken to protect the onboard batteries, robot without proper protection will not be allowed to compete.
(2) Each event has safety inspections. It is at their sole discretion that your robot is allowed to compete or not.
(3) All participants build & operate their robots at their own risk. Please look out to not hurt yourself or others when building, Testing & competing. Any activity (repairing, battery handling, etc.) which can cause damage to the teams within the competition area should not be carried out without permission. A team which Not follow All the rules will be disqualified.
(4) All the resources provided at the time of competition from the organizers should be strictly used only after the consent of the organizers.
(5) Once the robots have entered the arena, no team member can enter the arena at any point in time.
13.1 Objections
(1) Yes, you can raise objections on the opponent team if their robot does not fit in a given class.
(2) If the Opponent team does not use specified voltage batteries.
(3) If the opponent robot does not fit in the given size or dimensions.
14.1 Battery & Power Supply
(1) The Use of an IC engine in any form isn’t allowed. Importantly seal the onboard batteries, immobilized electrolyte types such as NiMH, dry cell, lithium-ion, nickel-cadmium.
(2) The electrical voltage between two points anywhere within the robo sumo should not be cross specified voltage. ( Indian RoboSumo Competition Rules )
(3) Team must make all the efforts to protect battery terminals.
(4) Use damaged, non-leak-proof batteries may cause disqualification.
(5) Take Special care and protect the onboard batteries. If judges found that the battery isn’t properly protected. then the team is immediately disqualified.
(6) Change of batteries not allowed during the match.
