Genrobotics Secures Major Singapore Government Contract After Beating 600 Global Competitors

India’s deep-technology sector is steadily gaining international recognition, particularly in robotics designed for hazardous environments. In a major development for the global sanitation robotics industry, Genrobotics has secured a contract from PUB, Singapore’s National Water Agency, to deploy robotic systems for sewer inspection and maintenance. Genrobotics, an Indian deep-technology company known for developing robotic solutions for hazardous infrastructure work, secured the contract after a highly competitive international evaluation process that included more than 600 participating firms. Rigorous Evaluation Process

The contract was awarded following a detailed technical assessment conducted by a government-appointed expert panel. The evaluation process examined the participating companies’ engineering capabilities, operational performance, and the ability of their technologies to function reliably in demanding environments. Genrobotics’ robotic systems will now be deployed in Singapore’s sewer and water management network, supporting the city-state’s efforts to strengthen urban infrastructure maintenance and improve worker safety.

The selection highlights the growing global recognition of Indian engineering and robotics innovation. Genrobotics’ solutions were assessed on their precision, durability in hazardous environments, and their ability to support data-driven infrastructure management. Technology Designed for Hazardous Environments

Genrobotics’ technology development strategy emphasizes rugged, cost-effective robotics engineered specifically for mission-critical environments. Genrobotics first gained international recognition for its flagship innovation, Bandicoot, widely described as the world’s first robotic scavenger designed to eliminate the need for humans to enter hazardous sewer systems. The Bandicoot robotic platform uses robotic arms, high-resolution cameras, and sensor-based navigation to inspect underground chambers and remove waste while being remotely operated from above ground.

In Singapore, Genrobotics’ technology will be used for robotic sewer inspection and cleaning operations, supporting real-time monitoring and more efficient water infrastructure management.

Singapore becomes the latest addition to Genrobotics’ growing list of international markets. Since 2022, the company has maintained a national-level collaboration with Indah Water in Malaysia. It has also expanded operations in the United Arab Emirates, South Africa, and the United Kingdom, supporting infrastructure maintenance and automation projects.
