Project Swayamchalit Gaadi first self-driving car team from Odisha
Project Swayamchalit Gaadi, the first self-driving car team from Odisha currently working on Level-4 Autonomous vehicles and small-scale self-driving car prototypes. The team belongs to KIIT, Bhubaneswar, one of the finest colleges in India.
The team is currently working on the second phase of designing the prototype for IGVC-2022. Also, besides working on an autonomous ground vehicle project, the Team is working on a multifunctional Level 4 Autonomous delivery bot, sufficient to deliver equipment required in the hospitals using their own internal app to decrease human interference and increase social distancing so as to help out in situations like Covid-19.
“Working and winning in the field of Electric Vehicles, we dreamt of extending our domain to Autonomous Vehicles. That’s when Project Swayamchalit Gaadi came into the picture”, Team members told to Robotics India.
We aim to build a completely homegrown autonomous vehicle and represent it on international grounds. We intend to represent our college and country at IGVC and Formulae Student Germany.

About IGVC -Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition
IGVC-Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition is a yearly self-driving car challenge taking place in Michigan (USA). It comprises various challenges, including Cybersecurity, line-following, obstacle avoidance, wave point navigation, etc. We are currently working on the 2nd phase of our IGVC- autonomous vehicle.
Also, we work on building small-scale vehicles. We have prototyped a multifunctional Level 4 Autonomous delivery bot, sufficient to deliver equipment required in the hospitals using our internal app to decrease human interference and increase social distancing to help out in situations like Covid-19.
