IIT Kanpur Robotics team ready for Robomaster competition 2022
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur :-IIT Kanpur Robotics team ready for Robomaster competition 2022
The robot is Equipped with artificial intelligence, machine learning, and mathematical modeling, this robot fires five bullets in a second. It has a lidar (a device for measuring the distance with the help of light), a 3D camera, a microprocessor, and many types of sensors. The laser light and automatic barrel (Nal) setting make it a perfect target. This is the prototype model of the robot, from which fiber bullets are released. In the coming times, this prototype of the robot is being considered important given the war to be fought with state-of-the-art resources.

The robot has won the title of Fighter Robot in Canada two years ago. Its advanced version is being prepared for the Robomaster competition to be held in Philadelphia in 2022. Experts have started the process of patenting for the advanced version.
Team Behind Phoenix robot
Professor of Electrical Engineering at IIT’s Intelligent Systems and Control Lab. Under the direction of Lakshmidhar Behera, Ashok Kumar Choudhary of MTech final year, Ayush of BTech third year, Siddharth, Aryan, BTech final year Lavish Kumar, Muskan Aggarwal, and Vaibhav Vardan have designed this robot named Phoenix. It can travel in all four directions at a speed of 20 kmph.
It can also be used on bumpy roads. Currently, the speed of bullets fired by robots is 25 meters per second. It can be increased as per the need. Experts have designed the robot in the shape of a tank, in which it can automatically determine the angle of its barrel according to the target.
Can take decisions automatically
Student Ashok Kumar Chaudhary said that along with monitoring the drone, it can also eliminate it. For this, the robot has onboard 3D cameras and microprocessors. It will be able to send messages by estimating the speed, distance of the drone. With the help of artificial intelligence, it can attack drones by taking automatic decisions. Phoenix is equipped with a wide range of features. Technology and sensors are being enhanced in this. The students are being prepared for the competition right now.
About RoboMaster competition
RoboMaster is an annual intercollegiate robot competition held in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China, founded and hosted by the drone tech giant DJI. First started in 2015, it is the brainchild of DJI’s founder and CEO Frank Wang, and jointly sponsored by the Communist Youth League Central Committee, the All-China Students’ Federation (ACSF) and the Shenzhen City Government. It is the first shooting sport-style robotics competition in China.
RoboMaster is one of the four major robotics competitions under the China University Robot Competition banner, along with Robocon, ROBOTAC and the Robot Start-ups Competition. It currently includes four sub-competitions – the RoboMaster Robotics Competition, the RoboMaster Technical Challenge, the ICRA RoboMaster AI Challenge, and the new RoboMaster Youth Tournament.
