Apple Education Hub Will Teach Coding & Robotics to India Supply Chain Staff
Apple is set to launch its first-ever Apple Education Hub in India, marking a significant step in the company’s efforts to upskill its supply chain workforce. Starting in March 2026, the hub will operate from a dedicated facility in Bengaluru, in collaboration with the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE). The initiative aims to provide practical training in coding, robotics, and modern manufacturing technologies to employees across Apple’s supply chain in India.
The hub will offer structured educational programs with a focus on hands-on learning. Initial courses will cover digital literacy and Swift coding for beginners, helping workers develop foundational skills essential for interacting with software-driven production tools. Apple faculty and MAHE educators will train supplier trainers, who will then scale the programs to larger employee groups across the network.
Beyond coding, the curriculum includes robotics, automation technology, and smart manufacturing systems. These courses are designed to align closely with Apple’s manufacturing standards, equipping workers to navigate increasingly automated production environments and improve overall supply chain efficiency. By introducing employees to these advanced topics, Apple aims to foster career growth while enhancing operational performance.
The program will expand beyond the Bengaluru hub through localized sessions at over 25 supplier sites across India, beginning with Tata Electronics. This ensures that employees nationwide can access training without having to relocate or take extended leave. The hub is expected to reach thousands of workers, offering skills that are both relevant to their current roles and valuable for future opportunities in the fast-growing technology and manufacturing sector.
This effort is part of Apple’s global $50 million Supplier Employee Development Fund, which was first announced in March 2022. According to Sarah Chandler, Apple’s VP of Environment and Supply Chain Innovation, the initiative demonstrates Apple’s commitment to empowering its supply chain workforce by offering new technical skills and career pathways.
Apple’s expansion in India has already created over 350,000 jobs in just five years, and the Education Hub is a continuation of the company’s investment in workforce development. With more than 75 educational courses already delivered to employees nationwide, the new hub strengthens Apple’s focus on skill-building in key areas such as coding, robotics, and automation, preparing the workforce for the next generation of manufacturing technologies.
