ABU Robocon 2026 Theme : Kung Fu Quest in Hong Kong, China
“The Fusion of Kung Fu and Robotics” – ABU Robocon 2026 introduces an electrifying new theme that merges martial arts tradition with cutting-edge engineering. Hosted in Hong Kong, China, this year’s competition challenges participants to embark on a Kung Fu Quest, where robots must demonstrate agility, intelligence, and teamwork in a dynamic battlefield inspired by Kung Fu philosophy.
ABU Robocon 2026 Theme
Gameplay Structure: Red vs Blue Teams
Each match will feature the Red Team and Blue Team, with each side operating two robots:

R1 – A semi-automated or manually controlled robot.

R2 – A fully automated robot that navigates and performs tasks independently.
Robots must collaborate to assemble weapons, collect Kung Fu scrolls, and strategically score points in a tic-tac-toe-style arena battle.
The Game Field: A 12m x 12m Arena Divided into Three Zones
Zone One: The Marshall Club

Includes the start zone, spearhead rack, and staff rack.

Robots must assemble weapons at this stage, earning 10 points per weapon.

Successful weapon assembly sets the foundation for later tasks in the match.
Zone Two: The Meihua Forest

The forest contains eight Kung Fu scrolls placed by opponents during preparation.

Scroll types:

R1-only scrolls (marked with the contest logo).
-
R2-only scrolls (printed with oracle bone characters).
-
Fake scrolls (random patterns – cannot be touched).

R1 travels along a narrow pathway, while R2 must enter via the forest entrance and can only collect scrolls immediately adjacent to it.

Scrolls that drop outside the forest or get damaged are unusable.
Zone Three: The Arena

Entry point for robots after collecting at least one scroll or weapon.

2m-high tic-tac-toe rack (for scroll placement).

Used weapon area.

Retry zone.

Robots place scrolls strategically on the rack for maximum points.
Scoring System: The Path to Kung Fu Mastery

Weapon Assembly: 10 points each.

Scroll Transport: 10 points each (into the arena).

R1 → bottom row (30 points each).

R2 → middle row (40 points each).

R2 with R1’s boost → top row (80 points each).

Knocking down opponent’s scrolls: Deducts their points.
Victory Condition:
The first team to align three scrolls vertically, horizontally, or diagonally on the tic-tac-toe rack is crowned Kung Fu Master and achieves absolute victory.
Match Format

Preparation Time: 1 minute – teams place eight Kung Fu scrolls in their opponent’s forest.

Competition Time: 3 minutes – robots perform tasks, collect scrolls, assemble weapons, and compete in the arena.
